A day in the life
  • Envision, design and develop tools, frameworks and testing infrastructure to facilitate the testing by multiple teams and Amazon business. This includes analyzing requirements, assessing testability, identifying automation opportunities and implementing them for projects where the work will be run by multiple businesses in parallel.
  • Lead and actively participate in design review, test planning and tools reviews, aligning teams across organization towards coherent test tool strategy.
  • Lead effort towards simplifying test tools and technologies in terms of efficiency, effectiveness stability, extensibility, and scalability.
  • Actively participate in employee hiring and development process.

About the team
Our office is located in Irvine, one of the safest US cities and you will enjoy free soda/snacks, southern California sunshine, 30-minute drive either south to beautiful Laguna beaches or north to the Disneyland theme parks.


  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.


  • Problem solving, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work quickly toward tight deadlines, and make smart tradeoffs between speed, accuracy, and maintainability.
  • Communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Working with cloud architecture and web services
  • Experience leading development of complex software systems that have been successfully delivered
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience mentoring other software engineers
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux
