Job Description
Experienced Senior Software Developer contract role supporting a major Alberta healthcare-sector database replacement project, including .NET development, SQL Server database design, web application development, Agile/Scrum delivery, solution design, and knowledge transfer.
Our client, a large Alberta healthcare-sector organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer Consultant to support a Furnishings & Equipment Planning Database Replacement Project. This project involves replacing an existing system that has reached its capacity to support larger volumes of data, analytics, planning, tracking, procurement, installation, and financial reporting requirements. This is a senior hands-on development and technical leadership role. The successful candidate will help lead the design, development, build, and implementation of a new in-house application that supports daily operational work for the Furnishings & Equipment Planning department. The work will be delivered through multiple releases and will require strong technical execution, business-facing communication, Agile/Scrum delivery, and knowledge transfer to the internal development team.
Who:
Our client supports corporate and operational services within Alberta’s healthcare system. The Furnishings & Equipment Planning team supports equipment specifications, procurement, delivery, budgeting, inventory, asset re-utilization, construction drawing review, logistics, scheduling, installation tracking, and related activities for clinical and non-clinical furnishings and equipment.
The new system will support business functionality such as equipment planning, project tracking, procurement and installation tracking, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders, IT teams, developers, and project leads to convert business needs into secure, usable, scalable, and maintainable software.
You:
You are a senior .NET software developer with strong full-stack application development, database development, solution design, and Agile delivery experience. You are comfortable leading design and development work, building modern web applications, working with SQL Server databases, creating technical specifications, supporting product backlogs, and delivering working software through iterative releases. You can operate independently while also mentoring other developers. You communicate clearly with business and technical stakeholders, translate technical issues into practical language, and can help teams adopt Agile/Scrum delivery practices. You are solution-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work under tight timelines when needed.
Critical experience requirements include:
Competitive hourly contract rate to be confirmed based on experience, technical alignment, availability, work arrangement, and overall fit.
Next Steps:
If this opportunity aligns with your senior .NET development, SQL Server database development, full-stack web application, Agile/Scrum, and technical leadership experience, we would like to hear from you. Please apply with your updated resume, including details of your .NET, SQL Server, React or Angular, Azure DevOps, database design, Agile delivery, knowledge transfer, and relevant project experience. A member of our team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
