As a People & Culture business partner you'll be providing expertise advice, support, and services in a variety of human resources areas including:
- Acts as a trusted advisor to leaders by building strong relationships and applying HR expertise to support business priorities
- Provides day-to-day coaching and guidance to managers to strengthen leadership capability, team performance, and employee experience
- Delivers proactive support across a variety of HR areas including labour relations, performance development, succession planning, and disability management
- Works with business units in supporting their people priorities by partnering and delivering sustainable solutions as business needs grow and evolve
- Supports, contributes to the development of, and leverages programs and initiatives in partnership with People and Culture COE's.Champions consistent application of HR policies and best practices to ensure fairness, compliance, and organizational alignment
- Builds collaboration across teams by working closely with business leaders to integrate programs and optimize people solutions
- Participates in supporting enterprise-wide initiatives and projects, organizational change and continuous improvement
- Guides managers to best practices, behaviours, supports and engagement in creating a positive workplace culture.
- Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking
- Thrive in a challenging and dynamic setting, building and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization as part of the management team
- Develop an in-depth understanding of their clients' business needs and proactively apply people and culture leadership and practices in the delivery of HR programs and initiatives
- Apply strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
- Use strong facilitation to coach and guide managers in resolving workplace issues to create a positive and respectful employee experience
- Provide expert guidance in performance development, workforce planning and change management
- Be proficient with computer systems, HRIS and/or PeopleSoft, and use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop, analyze and present information to clients and management
- A bachelor's degree with a concentration in human resources or a related discipline
- A minimum of five years of experience as an HR generalist
- Experience in a unionized setting is preferred
- Labour relations background is strongly preferred
- Operational experience is a requirement
- CPHR designation (or working towards completion) is an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
