Job Description:
The Governance and Control (G&C) Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, CPB BMG (1B) and will play a key role supporting the overall 1B mandate, leading and managing the development and execution of the Models & Tools Program activities and reporting. This role will focus on supporting all Models & Tools oversight activities for the North American Customer Operations (NACO) LOB.
As a successful candidate, you are a Subject Matter Expert with a deep understanding of Models & Tools requirements within TD. You have proven experience performing risk assessments, policy analysis, consultation & implementation, as well as Issues Management & Reporting.

- supporting and enabling business growth within TD's risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Foster an effective and transparent culture of model and tools risk awareness as well as evaluate business strategy and activities against risk appetite.
- Support the Business in the identification, assessment, mitigation and overall management of current and emerging model and tools risks in business processes, operations, and initiatives to comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Support business with consumer related impacts such as fair banking/lending & human rights related consideration for models and tools in business processes, operations, and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Business to maintain processes to identify, track and resolve model and tools related issues expediently and effectively. Identify and report trends/areas of increasing model and tools risk and support decision-making/mitigation.
- Support model and tools related exams, reviews, and findings with second and third lines of defense risk and control partners as well as external parties. Identify trends/areas of increasing model and tools risk and support decision-making/mitigation.
- Establish and maintain Models & Tools Governance Framework and oversee lifecycle activities -conceptualization, development, validation, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and performance monitoring, retirement
- Develop and maintain a complete and accurate Inventory Lists for NACO Models & Tools
- Provide models and tools governance subject matter expertise to business to support their risk management practices
- Streamline NACO models and tools processes, driving efficiency and consistency in processes/approaches and technology/tools, where possible. Be continuous improvement minded, seeking/pursuing new ways of working, where appropriate.
- Provide trusted and reliable model and tool reporting to senior leadership and risk and control partners on the state of risks, controls, and outcomes.
- Manage relationships within various business lines and/or Control Partners while acting as a brand ambassador for our business area.
Skills Required:

- Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and leveraging available standards and policies to support business interpretation of tools/BMTs, models and risks
- Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program activities to ensure completion
- Self-driven, self-motivated and operates effectively in an independent version
- Strong data and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and finding meaningful solutions to complex issues.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making risk-based decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and with control partners.
- Ability to effectively challenge the status-quo and engage in challenging conversations as needed.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to impact and influence outcomes.
- Comfort operating independently in an ambiguous environment.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Asset:
- Experience working with Model Risk Governance or AI Governance
- Experience in governance and control, risk, compliance or other similar function.
Knowledge of, or experience working in, NACO product areas, operations and channels.
