Introduction to the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Protect EFTR Operations Pod as a Business Systems Analyst. The EFTR platform is a critical enterprise-wide system that ensures compliance with FINTRAC regulatory reporting requirements across multiple business lines. As a key member of the operations pod, you will help maintain the stability, accuracy, and integrity of EFTR data and processes through deep business and systems analysis, ongoing support, and collaboration with both business and technology partners.
The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for problem-solving. Customer
- Provide ongoing business and data analysis support for the EFTR platform, ensuring reporting accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and analyze data quality issues, working with business, operations, and technology teams to identify root causes and define solutions.
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear functional specifications for defect fixes, enhancements, and reporting changes.
- Support production incident triage by analyzing data and process flows, documenting impacts, and contributing to resolution and validation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across lines of business to understand their reporting needs and provide timely, accurate support.
- Participate in validation and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions meet business expectations and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, data flow diagrams, and user guides to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Shareholder
- Support the accuracy and completeness of regulatory reporting to minimize compliance risk and protect the bank's reputation.
- Analyze and identify opportunities to optimize business processes and data flows for improved efficiency and reduced operational risk.
- Partner with technology teams to prioritize and deliver changes that add value to the organization while maintaining platform stability.
- Contribute to the packaging and release planning of business-driven fixes and improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Recommend improvements to business analysis practices, tools, and templates to drive consistency and quality across the team.

- Collaborate closely with operations, product owners, developers, and QA analysts to support shared goals and deliver business value.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture by supporting others and celebrating shared successes.

BREADTH & DEPTH:
- Sound to Advanced knowledge of system analysis process and techniques
- Sound to Advanced knowledge of systems and applications supported by the team including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rules
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and related expertise including design, development, testing and delivery frameworks
- Sound understanding of business supported and business analysis
- Leads system requirements management for moderate to high complexity/risk initiatives in alignment with strategies
- Identifies risks and impediments and leads problem resolution for complex issues
- Leads the identification, maintenance, and reporting of traceability of system requirements
- Work performed under minimal guidance and supervision
EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Preference given to candidates who have experience working in the Payments or Regulatory Domains
- Experience with Agile, Kafka, Mongo, Excel and Power BI an asset.
